Just wanted to let you know that I am going to resurrect my poor little blog. As you can see I tried to update it and have added links to all the blinkies on the side so if you want to visit the stores of my favorite designers (both those I currently create for and those I one day dream to) please click on it and it will whisk you away to one of the best forms of therapy....WINDOW SHOPPING!!!

One of the reasons I am getting back into blogging is because I will be participating in a blog train for the birthday of a designer I work with. Her name is Wendy (aka. WM[squared] Designs). She has some really fabulous kits and templates that I am in love with. So we will be doing something special this week so keep your eye out for it.

On the good news front, I have a couple of layouts that are being published in a scrapbook magazine based out of Australia called Scrapbooking Memories. I guess they will be sending me a copy of the magazine when it is published. I am super excited about that.

In closing I just wanted to share a couple of the pages that I have been doing lately....

These two I did last night. I don't usually just scrap "for fun" meaning without filling a requirement for one of my Creative Teams but decided to finally use some of the fun new things that I bought on iNSD over at 9th and Bloom. They both utilize templates from "School Is Cool" by Fizzy Pop Designs and "Things That Matter" by Kelley Mickus.

Sorry it has been so long. I have continued to keep busy with my digi-scrapbooking but haven't had the opportunity to post here. With the Christmas holidays though a lot of designers have freebies on their blogs and I couldn't forget to tell you. Here are some of my favs....

#1: Meghan Mullens... She has a bunch of different alphas on there as well as a couple templates and QPs (quick pages- where you just have to add pictures and journaling).

#2: Eva Kipler... Her CT just come out with a bunch of QPs that they posted on their website for Christmas. Love the layouts they chose. Be sure to head over and download them.

#3: Sweet Shoppe... Okay, technically not a designer but every day the release a new free template until Christmas. They are only good for that day so be sure to head over and get the ones that are left. Sorry I am posting this so late. If you want the set they are selling it.

#4: Lyndsay Riches... Her CT has been putting out a bunch of freebies this month along with alphas and such from Lyndsay herself. Make sure you check it out before the links are disabled.

So I am the Relief Society Night Coordinator (isn't that a mouthful) for our ward. We have a craft night coming up that I am planning and I have been all over the Internet getting ideas for different projects. In the process I have seriously caught the crafting bug. I have so many projects that I want to do now. The first one on my list that I finally finished is from How Does She?. It is a birthday wreath. The idea is that when it is close to a member of the family's birthday you put out the wreath so that everyone knows and can celebrate with you...and you can't forget to get them a present too...not saying that Andrew has ever forgotten because I would never let him. LOL

The picture that they have on their blog looked kind of big to me so I bought the biggest wreath (18")...I don't think that is necessary if you decided to do this project. I wanted it to be large enough to hang on the door and look proportional but I think that could be easily accomplished with a smaller one...plus you use a lot less balloons and pins. I got the balloons at the dollar store and for the greening pins I started out buying them a Michaels and after I had used all of the ones they had I finally found some at Walmart for a dollar less AND they had twice as much in them. So if you do this please go to Walmart and look by their fake flowers and don't pay as much as I did because I seriously feel stupid now that I could have saved money. :)

Layouts and a Freebie Alert

First up is layouts that I have done lately. The first being a layout I did for Laura Banasiak (a.k.a. simply.scraps). She re-released a kit at the Digi Chick called "Take it Back". It has great colors to it that will work for any layout or you could use the little word art prompts to dig a little deeper.

The next two are using kits by Bella Gypsy. Bella Gypsy is made up of two sisters who design together kits and templates. They have some really amazing and fun stuff. You got to check out their store here. The first layout uses their kit "Family Tree" that they made with Jessica Edwards (another fabulous designer by the way). I love the colors of it and the papers are darling. The second one uses "Tiki Tiki Shake". I LOVE the hawaiin theme and all the elements are awesome. For this layout I also used a free template from Manda Girl. If you want to check them out go here.

Finally for the freebie alert...Jennifer Barrett has a fun new summer kit called "Ice Ice Baby". With it's release she has made freebie wordart sticks. They are darling. You have to head over and pick them up before the link is disabled. Go here if you want to get them.

"About a Girl" by simply.scraps Designs and a challenge...

Simply.scraps is re-releasing her kit called "About a Girl" today and I think it is FABULOUS. I love the colors and all the elements.

I don't have very many pictures of me because I am generally the one behind the camera. So a lot of my pages don't have me anywhere in them. When I do find a picture that I don't mind too terribly I try to scrap it so that my kids will be able to show their children who I was.

I challenge you to take time and do a page either from your perspective or just about you (what you like, dislike, etc). I think you will enjoy the end result and your family will cherish it as they get older. Who doesn't want to know about their family? If you end up do it please post a link because I would love to see what you come up with.

I have a bunch to share. So here we go...

I am trying to get a bunch of layouts done so that I can get 2009 printed. I think I have maybe 10-20 left. That may sound like a lot but we went to Disneyland and I have some of the holidays left to scrap.

The first one I am sharing is actually one I just finished. It is using a REALLY cute kit by Jessica Edwards called "Day at the Zoo". Also, right now my mojo is missing so I am using a lot of templates lately it seems. I think that Chrissy W. always designs some really classy LOs and I love the one I ended up using. It comes from her "Sample Pack 15"

Next we have a really cute kit by Wimpychompers called "Dog-Gone". It has the most adorable little dogs in it. I also used a template by GSD by Nikki Epperson called "Playing With Layers".

As for the next two....Down This Road Designs (a local digial designer) asked me if I would work with an LDS themed kit called "Missionary Memories: Sister". Previously I had worked with the Elder kit and I loved this one just as much. It is so darling and can be used to scrap missionary photos OR pictures of your future little missionaries. You will noticed that I even used it for a ward activity. The first LO is using another awesome template by Chrissy W. "Sample Pack 16". The second one is from "Playing With Layers" by GSD by Nikki Epperson...can you tell that I love her templates? :)

I realize that the past couple of weeks I haven't really posted much other than the sales that I come across. Sorry. We are starting the baseball season and we will pretty much be out of the house 5 days a week with it for 2 months. If you know any quick and easy recipes I would greatly appreciate it because if it isn't quick then we resort to a drive-up. :)

I have done a lot of layouts though. Part of the problem is that I need to wait until the kit is released so that I don't ruin the surprise of what the designer has coming up.

Here are a couple of my favorite though.

This is one of my all-time favorites. I love the use/lack of color. I used "Are You Game?" by Wimpychompers that she had over at Polkadotplum before she left. I am sure she will be re-releasing it over at Scrap Matters and will let you know when she does.

This one is using a kit by Wimpychompers called "No Girls Allowed". It has some really fun elements in it. SIDE NOTE: She is now selling exclusively at Scrap Matters. It is a really nice store and when you post your layouts everyone there is so nice and comments so quickly on them. Check it out!

This one is using a lot of different designers' Color Play items over at Elemental Scraps. Each month they give the designers a color scheme to work with and they make what ever they wish with it. I used Amanda Carlson's alpha "Like Totally", Bella Gypsy's "Afternoon Cuddles" Embellishments and Template AND Albums to Remember "Stripes" paper.

For this layout I actually worked with a designer at Brownie Scraps who was looking for someone to make a LDS themed LO. It is called "Missionary Memories Elder" by Down This Road Designs. I also used a template by Bella Gypsy called "Lookie Here". If you would like to read my journaling please go here.

This one I actually did today. Madame Wing is a guest designer right now over at Elemental Scraps. For this I used "Hugs and Sunshine". I LOVE the flowers she has in this kit. Make sure you head over there and see what she has up in her store.

This is another really recent LO. I used a collab kit by Connie Prince and Armina Designs. It is appropriately called "Chick Magnet". It has a lot of different papers and elements. I just used only a small portion of them. Head over to Connie's store when you can. She is a fabulous designer and she has a lot of really cool stuff.

Lots and lots of new layouts...

There are a bunch of layouts that I have done but had to wait for the kits to be released before I could post them. Today I am going to only be posting layouts from kits at Elemental Scraps. There are a bunch of them so I figure it will probably be easier this way.

The first layout is using another kit by Captivated Visions. If you haven't heard of her designs...she is fabulous. Her name is Rachel and she is very nice and designs some of the most awesome stuff. The kit I used is call "Happy Being Me". I also used her stacked papers which are SO COOL. In fact, she actually sells the templates now to them. Also, I did use a template by BZB Designs called "Kiss: January". She is also a vey talented designer. Check her out if you get the chance.

Next, I did a two-page layout about when we went to the Children's Museum. I used two different templates from Chrissy W's "A Photo A Day Template Set" and "d00d" by Angie Kovacs and simply.scraps. I love the colors in this kit. They have the funnest elements and the templates that Chrissy has in this set are so clean. I just love it.

Now we have a layout I did about getting a new haircut. I just had the twins and was feeling rather unattrative. Andrew suggested I got out and get a haircut and it was FABULOUS. I felt like a new person. Meredith Cardall came out with a fun Spring kit that I thought was perfect for how I felt. It is called "Sweet Spring". She is a local gal here in Utah and has a lot of fun kits in her store.

Last we have a layout about Emma's first trip to the dentist. She was such a champ and SO excited to get a prize at the end. For this I used two products by Bella Gypsy and Connie Prince. They team up a lot and it always ends up fabulous. The kit is called "Tooth Brush Tango" and the kit is "Living on the Edge".

Well I just found out a week or so ago that I will be guesting in March for GSD by Nikki Epperson. She is a designer over at Polkadotplum. I am REALLY excited. I love her designs. She does both kits and templates and they are FABULOUS!!!! So, if you haven't seen her store go check it out.

Also, Christina (Wimpychompers) is switching over from clip art to her own fabulous designs and to say farewell to the "old" she is giving away her latest kit "You Make Me Bananas". It will be free until Valentines day so make sure you get over there while you can.

Finally, I wanted to share some of my layouts that I have done. There really are a bunch of them so I will only pick my favorites. The first was for the Scrap Off at DSA. I unfortunately did not end up winning but had a lot of fun and loved all the free kits that we were given. This one is entitled "You Are My Sunshine".

Next used a kit by Wimpychompers called "Rocket Launch". It is one of her new kits and totally adorable. If you want to read my journaling please go here.

Now, we have ANOTHER layout using one of Wimpychompers kits call "Little Dude". I also used a template by Colie's Corner (No Rules Template Set) for this as well.

Last of all is my first layout I did for Susan Robinson Designs. She is currently at Polkadotplum but will be closing down her store on Valentines day. She will have a huge sale though this weekend. She makes the most fabulous templates and began designing kits as well, but her "real" job will be taking her on extended business trips and keep her so busy that she won't be able to maintain her store. For this layout I used her kit "Love is in the Air" and her template "Sketchpad Collection 13". Make sure you check it out.

I told you that I am pumping out the LOs lately and you will now see what I mean. :) The first LO is from a Scrap Off I am doing at DigiScrapAddicts. They give everyone who signed up the same kits and see what they do with them. Then each week your LO is judged and whoever has the highest score at the end will get to be on their CT. I am not sure how far I will go in the competition, but would love the chance to be apart of their team. You get the opportunity to work with a WIDE variety of talent and the very newest, hotest kits. So now that I have ranted for a while...here is my LO for Week 1. I used bits from each of the different kits.

Next is a LO I did for Colie's Corner. She has a few new releases that go with the whole 365 Challenge. It is essentially where you take a picture for each day to document your year or various parts of your life. The kit is called "A Day in the Life". She also has some really great templates as well that feature more than just the 1-3 pictures. The template pack that I used is called "What a Week" and has some awesome templates in it.

The next three I did for Elemental Scraps. It really is the nicest store and they have some really fabulous designers there. The first LO uses "Love You" by Albums to Remember. I love the bright colors. The template is from Chrissy W. She takes different LOs that she finds in the galleries and makes them into templates (with the person's approval). This template is apart of an awesome set called "Liftin' Kellie".

LO #2 for Elemental Scraps uses a Valentines kit by simply.scraps called "The Way You Make Me Feel". I used it to show how in love Emma is with Elmo. The template came from Bella Gypsy and Connie Prince's "January Templatepalooza." If you are into templates they have some really fabulous ones and if you get it as a part of the templatepalooza you will save money because after that month they release them individually.

LO #3 for Elemental Scraps uses another product from Connie Prince called "I Love Rock and Roll". It has some really fun elements and would be perfect to document those Rock Band get-togethers, concerts, or even invitations to a Rock Band party....can you say, "Girl Band"!?! For the template I used Angie Kovacs' template set called "A Little Clustered." It is a nice clean LO that doesn't require a lot of embellishment. Of course you could always add whatever you want and just use the template to get started.

For the last LO for right now...you never know if I might not post more later tonight, right? I used Wimpychompers kit called "Little Dude". It has a lot of skateboarding accents, but is awesome for any little boy LO with other versatile elements. I did use another Colie's Corner Template from her "No Rules" Set. It initially was flipped 90 degrees to the right but it didn't work for my picture so I mixed it up a little.

Word was circulating that Winkflash might be having their flat rate sale and I checked today and they in fact are. It only lasts until the 27th of this month. Essentially you pay the base fee which would normally only include 20 pages but will get you upto 100 right now. This is a really great opportunity if you have pages ready to be bound. Applying for a Creative Team...

So lately it seems I have been able to turn out LOs a lot quicker than usual. It could be because I am just that fabulous...OR it could be all the awesome new stuff I get to work with. For those who are new to my blog I CT (or am on Creative Teams) for various designers or sites. They give me their product free and I in return make LOs for them to post where they need to show people what they can do with their kits.

There are always designers looking for people to join their team. If you are looking for an opportunity to try this out I recommend looking at the sites you currently buy your digital supplies from. They usually have a thread devoted to store news so that designers can post their "Calls" there. Or, you could go to a general digital scrapbooking site like I did. There are two that I highly recommend. They are DigiScrapAddicts (DSA) and DigiShopTalk (DST). Each has a call section and you just click on the different threads. If you are new and don't necessarily know all of the designers (...I am often coming across ones that I don't know) you just look for a link to their store. If they seem to fit your style (and this is important because you will be working with their products), you send off an email with the information they request in their "call" and then the waiting game begins.

Tips for applying for Creative Teams:

Make sure you cover the information they request in the call.
Don't be afraid to apply, even if you don't have experience.
Be sure to start uploading the LOs that you have done to a gallery or blog. (DSA or DST is a good option for this. This is how they choose who fits "their" style.)
Don't be afraid to be yourself. Often they want you to tell them about yourself. I wouldn't go into too much detail (they aren't looking for a novel) but do let your best traits shine through.

Next I want to talk about when you get "the news." I want to say that more times than not the whole experience is quite positive. You love them. They love you. It is a perfect match. Sometimes it doesn't happen that way. I have applied for a few creative teams and I don't always make it. It does seem frustrating because you never know "why" you weren't picked but you keep moving. Recently I applied to CT for the first designer that I really fell in love with her kits. (I follow her designs, stalk her blog, etc.) Well, her call comes up and I immediately apply after I pass out from shock. :) I am checking my email a billion times a day because I don't want to miss "the news". Well, it comes alright. I didn't make it. It was a big setback for me because I looked up to her so much and she didn't want me to be on her team. It is alright to get upset...and I REALLY was, but then I realized that maybe I wasn't far enough along design-wise and that it isn't as though I can't apply for her next call. Or maybe she received over 200 applications and could only take 10...that would take some serious slimming down of the applicants.

So I guess my last bit of advice is to keep things in perspective. Just because you don't make something the first time doesn't mean you stink and that you should give up. It is nothing more than the fact that you need to keep moving and try again. :)

I have been doing LO's like it is going out of style lately...which I love because it means that my mojo isn't totally gone, right?

The first is using Wimpychompers kit "I Can See" and Colie's Corner's "For Starters Template Set 23". As a family with a lot of people who wear glasses this kit was perfect, especially to document the first pair (of many). :)

Next is a LO I did for Elemental Scraps (a store I just started CTing for). I picked a kit by Captivated Visions called "Sassy Frassy" which I immediately fell in love with. Those of you who know me know that I am a sucker for polkadots. For this LO I also used a template by Connie Prince and Bella Gypsy as a part of their "December Templatepalooza."

Look familiar? :)

Next is another LO for Elemental Scraps. I used "Homespun Holidays" by Meredith Cardall and "Sample Pack 16" by Chrissy W. I love how easy templates are and how quick they can make your work.

Last of all is a LO for Wimpychompers using a kit called "Caught Red Handed." I absolutely love all the papers and elements in this kit. It would be great for those time you catch your kids being naughty or even a really cute picture that you think is just "criminal"...I know I am hilarious. :)

New LOs....

So I recently did a couple of LOs. The first is from a kit by Colie's Corner called "On the Farm". She has made the most adorable animals for this kit. You have to check it out. If you have any farm or animal pictures this is a really great kit.

The second LO is using a kit by Wimpychompers called "Baby Steps." It is primarily for documenting all those "firsts" but has a few elements that are for pregnancy as well. The sad thing is though that this kit is being discontinued on January 1st so if you like it you better snag it before it goes in the vault.

To Start Over or Not to Start Over...That is the question. :)

A friend of mine posted this question:

Do you mix two styles together (digital and regular scrapbooking) in the same album? Do you re-do the pages you have already done? Or do you finish what you started the traditional way?

I think it is all about your personal preference and how you plan to print/bind it. For me personally I don't mind mixing the two in one album as long as you are planning to just have the pages printed out so that you can slip them into sleeves. Or you could always have your pages scanned and then printed and bound but that seems kind of silly when you already have a hard-copy. There are some layouts that I have done and don't really love but would like to re-do. This is a perfect opportunity to do that.

I remember when everyone was switching from 8.5x11 to 12x12. I debated on whether I should change or wait until I got caught up...yeah right. :) I am kind of a "fly by the seat of my pants" girl and I don't scrap chronologically. So the thought of catching up first was torture for me. If you think you can keep them separate you could always digi-scrap new pictures and traditional scrap all the others.

So now I will post this question out there for all of you...what do you do? Are you planning to mix? Also, if you have a question you want to talk about post it and I will get it on here. :)

Life has been wild for me lately. My little sweet babies have gotten only a little better. They still cough like crazy sometimes but no one (including the doctors) knows why. We are trying to finish what we started and get Emma potty trained. She is so close but still a little stubborn about it. Gehrig is reading (isn't that exciting?) and I have been trying to work with him more on that. Then we have the holidays coming up and who isn't busy then right? So, I have decided to step down from two of the designers that I CT for in hopes of not driving myself and my family crazy trying to keep up with it all. Both were really great to work with. They were the first two that took a chance on me when I initially decided to try out and I am eternally grateful for that. The experience has been wonderful.

So now onto what I have been working on....

The first is on our Girls Night Out to see New Moon. It was such a fun day and Pixel Pisces has such an awesome kit called Girlie Pieces. There is a lot more too that kit obviously than I used. I was working with a template by Colie's Corner in her Gimme Five Template Set.

Next is two LO's I did using Wimpychomper's kit called I'll Save You. For "Captain Underpants(es)" I used another template by Colie's Corner's For Starters Template Set 21. I have so many super hero layouts I could do for both my boys AND Emma and I love how she has covered both boys and girls with this kit.

Then we have another LO using one of Wimpychomper's kits called Forever Love. This is the perfect wedding/love kit. She has some really beautiful elements. It is very muted which works great with both color and black and white.

Last of all is another kit by Colie Corner called Tis the Season. It has the most adorable Santa! I used another one of her templates too. She just came out with 4 or 5 new sets. This one is from No Rules.

I completed 2 LO's yesterday (Saturday). Andrew, my AWESOME husband, gave me my Christmas present (4GB of memory) early in hopes of speeding up my scrapbooking so that I can go to bed at a decent time. I think it worked because I was able to get so much done. If your computer is really slow and REALLY REALLY slow if you are digital scrapbooking I highly recommend getting more memory. It is like having a brand new computer. Anyhow back to the LOs....I used a kit that will be coming out at Pretty Scrappy called From Our Roots. It is a collab made by all the designers at Pretty Scrappy. It has two parts and is fabulous. So many papers and elements to choose from. On the second LO I used a template by Colie's Corner. A little while ago I asked her if she would make templates with 5 or more pictures since I have 5 kids and generally templates only have 3 or less pictures in it. She totally came through for me and they turned out awesome. She called it Gimmie Five Template set. If you love them you can get it at Gotta Pixel.

So I have done a few LOs and have been saving them up for you. The first is from Wimpychompers' collab kit with Danielle Corbitt called "Circus Boogie". I love the elements and papers for this kit. We have never been to the circus but I thought the cute elements worked great with the zoo page I did. Take a look...

The second LO I did used Colie's Corner's kit "Made with Love". Such a cute kit with the little kids all dressed up in baker's uniforms. Would be great for any baking LO and with Christmas coming up that is sure to be useful. For this LO I also used her For Starter's Template Set 21.

I have been asked by a couple of people to show them how to digital scrapbook. I am more than happy to help out, but sometimes it is hard to plan. I was thinking that it might be faster if I just get a bunch of us together and we have a mini class. I wouldn't charge anything, but I could show you the ropes. And if you want to get more hands-on time you could bring your laptop or desktop (yes, it requires a little more work) and that way I would be there to trouble shoot as well. What do you think? We could even take it a step farther and I could talk to some of the designers I work with and see if there is anything they could hook me up with or a discount they would give me that I could pass on so that we could complete a project. Maybe design our own Christmas cards, complete a LO, etc. Let me know who is in and I will get working. Feel free to pass this on to anyone who you think might be interested. That way we can all help each other, right?

I have done a couple of LO's since the weekend and wanted to post them. The first is done with a kit I recently got from a designer at PDP (PolkaDotPlum) named GSD by Nikki. The kit is called "Rustic Comfort". Also as a part of DSD (Digital Scrapbooking Day) she was hosting a template challenge and gave us the following template to use. Again, I must say that I LOVE templates. :)

For the second LO I used a kit by TotallyD which by the way has changed her name to PixelPisces and currently has a store at www.inspiration-lane.com. I am loving her new kit "Playful". It has the brighter colors that I tend to be drawn to and some fun elements that didn't exactly work with this kit, but could be used a bunch others.

I love ALL the elements in this kit but couldn't find any Thanksgiving pictures...although this year I will make sure my battery isn't dead. LOL Also, I am really dying to make place cards with this one for the family sit down feast. I will post them when I get done.

For our ward Halloween party this last year Andrew went as Nacho Libre. Everyone was quite surprised by his outfit and thought it was awesome. They are girls youth pants....who knew that they don't sell bright red binkini underwear for men anymore? I was given the awesome opportunity to be a guest for one of my favorite designers, Wimpychompers. She has a new kit being release tomorrow called "Got You In Stitches". For the layout that I did for this kit I found a picture from grade school....granted it isn't a great picture but oh well. :) My Grandma J had made me that dress and I thought it fit perfectly with the kit. I have seen other layouts though that were darling and had nothing to do with sewing at all. It really is cute and I love the colors. It seems like we are always late for church. Since Dad has meetings in the morning it is just us and each Sunday seems like a struggle, especially since the twins came. Who knew getting five kids ready for church could be so hard? This Sunday though we began three hours before it started and we had a few extra minutes to spare so I could document this momentous occasion. It really was a miracle.

Speaking of her store...it is at Digi Scraps Drive-In, which is really fun by the way. Everyone seems so nice both in the forum and the gallery. Anyhow, onto the awesome news. I made Layout of the Day on Monday for my layout entitled "You're the most AWESOME Dad"...I am kind of addicted to saying that word. Isn't that AWESOME! I know it isn't some major award but the fact that someone saw my layout and liked it enough to tell others about it was so cool.

Colie's Corner has come out with the cutest kit called Tool Shed. Today it is part of the Gotta Pixel $1 items. If you can I would definitely snag it. I used it with another new release of hers (For Starters Template Set 18) to create this LO...twice. Here is where I get on my soap box...Please remember to SAVE as you go along designing or working on LO's. I, unfortunately, did not and had to do the whole thing all over again. Loved the end product but really would have loved only having to do it twice. Okay, now that that is over we can talk about all the fun stuff you can do with this kit. Obviously LOs about of your little man or girl building or playing with toys. How about documenting a new home being built or a remodel? Also, if there is a man in your life who loves to make things, you could design the most awesome birthday/Father's Day cards. If you get a moment go check it out.

Super Sweet Deal to Get a FREE Photo Book

So I like a good deal like anyone else. I frequently go to the Pinching Your Pennies website to check out what they are posting and to my extreme delight they have a post telling you how to get a FREE photo book from Walgreens. Essentially all you need to do is become a Facebook fan of theirs before October 2nd and on that day they will tell you how to redeem your gift. You do need to pay for shipping but I believe it said that it is only around $2. REALLY GOOD DEAL!!! So, if you have pages already done great. If not, you better get started. They have a lot of QP's (quick pages - where you just drop in your photos and add journaling) online. Some even for free. Good places to check out for that is http://www.digiscrapaddicts.com/ in their forum, as well as other scrapbook stores. I would check under designer news because when they come out with new kits they generally release a QP to go with it for free on their blogs. For this LO I used Ahoy Mateys by Serene by RW. They have a lot of fun elements that look cartoonish. It is perfect for layouts for Halloween or birthday parties. Speaking of parties, you could use it for invitations, thank you cards, AND to make a treasure map to use during the party. Now that I am thinking about it, I bet you could use it to decorate treat bags and make stickers...all sorts of ideas are coming to me. Anyhow, take a look and tell me what you think.

So I know I have mentioned it before, but I LOVE templates. They totally take all the guess work out of scrapbooking. You pick the pictures you love and find a template that you like. Swap out the elements with papers/accessories of your choosing and ta-dah! You are done. For this LO I used For Starters Template Set 14 by Colie's Corner and her kit Fall Pickins. I am lovin' the colors and especially those little apples. It could totally be used for any fall layout you have yet to do.

For my first layout with Pretty Scrappy I chose the kit Sweet Beginnings by Tricia Curtis Designs. It has a bunch of baby elements (crib, blocks, booties, etc) along with some really fabulous papers. You could use this kit for so many different things. Also it comes with two different complete alphabets (upper, lower, and symbols). One is plain and the other has flourishes.

So lets start off with the freebie. Totally D Designs came out with a kit on Saturday called "Luke". It is absolutely darling. I will be posting my LO with this kit soon. To celebrate its release she came up with a QP (Quick Page) Freebie on her blog. Click here to go to her site to download it. If you are just getting started or just want to get your pages done fast this is a great way to go. You just add your picture and journaling. If you want to add additional elements you can to make it more "yours". Enjoy!

This is my layout I did with Colie's Corner Template 12. See this post to find out how to download the template. If you have never worked with templates you should they are a lot of fun and you can still change things up a bit if you want. The paper and elements came from a kit called "The Land of Nod" by Design by Dani. You can find her whole kit at http://www.sweetshoppedesigns.com/. There is a lot of great stuff in that kit. In fact I recently made a shower invite with it. The fonts I used are Pea Missy with a Marker and CK Script.

LOVE participating in challenges offered by different websites. Last night I did a LO for a scraplift challenge through Polkadotplum.com. I used a new kit by wimpychompers (who is a designer for that site). It is entitled "Forever Sisters". Way cute kit. You could use it for so many different things (sisters, friends, little girl, love, etc.). The picture is from my sister, Breezy's, wedding. Enjoy!

So my ultimate goal is to work on a CT (Creative Team) for one or more of my favorite designers. In the meantime I am trying to build my portfolio so that when the call comes I have something to show.

This LO (layout) was made with a Jady Day Studio's Kit called Springdipity. I know I am always saying how much I love this or that, BUT I really honest and truly LOVE HER DESIGNS. Those of you who know me well know that I am cheap...okay, really cheap. If I can get something for free I will and I use it. If I have to buy it...ehhhh. I have and will buy a lot more of her designs. They tend to be bright and fun. You will just need to check out her store. She only sells her designs at Scrap Orchard. Right now they are having a sale and her kits are included!!! Remember though, it ends tomorrow (Thursday).

We decided to make books for our fathers with our kids' pictures. Usually I just slap our pictures in and don't really think much about it. This year I decided to finally use the Photoshop Elements program I bought a while back and figure out how to digital scrapbook.

I started out by searching on google.com for free digital scrapbook kits and found a lot of great kits that I didn't have to pay a dime for. Granted they are often only available for free for a limited time and/or may require you to sign up to become a member of that site, but it is well worth it. I will list the kits that I have used with each page so that you may check with the designer to see if they are still available for free or for sale for a small fee.

Also, for the layouts I used variations of different sketches by Becky Higgins downloaded from Creating Keepsakes website. If you have never heard of her I am sure you will become a fan when you see how she can help your scrapbooking to become quicker and still stylish. Essentially she gives you layout ideas for a set number of pictures. You can obviously add your own twist and switch it up, but it definitely helps get the creative juices flowing.

As you can tell from my blog background I LOVE this kit. I tend to go for bright colors and polka dots so this pretty much has everything I need. :) This kit was made by Carrie Stephens. It is called Boom Chicka Wah Wah! (That name just makes me laugh.) I just looked and found this kit in her store for a dollar. If you are interested click here to go to her store. I got this kit for free after signing up for her newsletter a while back.
